Bath time

By September 25, 2017Poems

I never used to have baths because a shower can take 5 minutes
A quick glance just to take it in
But in a bath there’s no escaping, you have to wallow in your soft folds of skin.
But there is the option to sit and sweat and fear as your tears begin to salt the water,
or realise instead that like mountains that ebb and flow, your body is a wonder
Rolling hills of decisions to taste delicious food and staying in bed instead of forcing yourself up at 6am
This body is my home. My roly poly home.
And I am thankful.
